Former IU football center Pat Coogan has signed his first NFL contract with the Tennessee Titans.
Coogan was selected in the sixth round by Tennessee in last month’s NFL Draft.
According to Spotrac, Coogan signed a 4 year, $4,658,780 contract with the Titans, including $278,780 signing bonus, $278,780 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,164,695. In 2026, Coogan will earn a base salary of $885,000 and the signing bonus of $278,780.
The Titans took Coogan with the No. 194 overall pick. He appears set to wear No. 79 for Tennessee.
Coogan started all 16 games at center for IU in 2025 and was named second-team All-Big Ten by the conference media and third-team All-Big Ten by the coaches. Part of an offensive line unit that paved the way for four-straight 300-yard rushing efforts to start the season – a program-record streak and longest Power 4 stretch since Baylor in 2017.
He earned Rose Bowl Offensive MVP honors, becoming the first offensive lineman to earn the honor since Norm Verry of Southern California in 1944.
“All I am looking to do is come in and get to work,” Coogan said after being picked by the Titans. “That’s who I am, that’s what I am about – just compete every single day, put my best foot forward, come into the facility every single day and be the same guy no matter what happened the day before. Good day, bad day, it doesn’t matter, I am going to come in and put my best foot forward and go out there and compete. That’s truly who I am and what I am all about.”
