The Hoosiers stay home in the friendly confines of Memorial Stadium, where they haven’t lost since 2023.

That isn’t likely to change on Saturday.

With Howard in town, the only thing in question is who has the better Bison mascot.

    HOWARD NOTES AND NUMBERS

    (Via Howard Athletics)

    • Howard (1-1) dropped a 28-21 decision to No. 23 Richmond in a nonconference game Saturday (Sept. 5) in Greene Stadium. The Bison rallied from a 20-0 halftime deficit but fell just short.
    • This is the first meeting between the institutions.
    • Howard is coached by Ted White (Howard, ’98), who is in his first season.
    • Offensively, the Bison are led by graduate quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins (28-of-88 for 424 yards & 4 TDs); 15 carries for 49 yards), junior running backs Travis Kerney (26 carries for 81 yards) and Billy Roberson II (14 carries for 65 & a TD), senior tight end Nathanial Clark (8 receptions for 53 yards & a TD), senior wide receiver Se’Quan Osborne (4 catches for 101 yards & a TD) and junior wide receiver Antonio Hunter (4 receptions for 81 yards & a TD).

    PREDICTIONS

There’s really not much to say. No one is expecting this game to be close, and it won’t be. And in the mascot standoff, Howard’s Big Blue is no match for Hoosier the Bison. Indiana cruises to its 18th straight win overall, and 17th straight at home.

TDH PREDICTION:  INDIANA 70 HOWARD 3

    • ESPN SP+ (Computer):  Indiana 66 Howard 0 (100% win probability for IU)
    • ESPN FPI (Computer):  Indiana has a 99% chance to win.
