IU football picks up commitment from 2023 athlete Desirrio Riles

Indiana made an addition to its 2023 class on national signing day.

Jacksonville, Fla. based Desirrio Riles announced on Wednesday morning he has committed to IU.

Riles played quarterback in high school for three years but made a position change going into his senior season.

He was recruited to be either a tight end or front seven defender in college, and had a big season doing both in 2022.

The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Riles recorded 24 tackles for loss, 14 sacks, and two interceptions to go along 17 catches, 280 receiving yards and four receiving touchdowns. Riles helped University Christian H.S. reach the Class 1M state semifinals.

Riles projects as an outside linebacker (bull position) at Indiana.

According to the 247Sports Composite, Riles is the No. 1,247 overall player in the 2023 class, and the No. 109 athlete, and the No. 175 player in the Florida.

Riles took official visits to Indiana, USF, and East Carolina in January.  The Hoosiers offered earlier this month and his official visit to IU was just this past weekend.

He is the 13th high school member of IU’s 2023 class.  Riles also had Power Five offers from Boston College and Michigan.

Riles also signed with IU on Wednesday.  Indiana announced that later in the morning.

Here are Riles’ senior season highlights.
