BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana defeated Milwaukee on Wednesday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall by a final score of 101-70.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

Indiana led 51-39 at halftime.  They were led in the game by Lamar Wilkerson with 24 points.  Tayton Conerway added 21.

Indiana (3-0) will next host Incarnate Word on Sunday afternoon.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Balanced offense keeps humming.  Indiana’s offensive stat line against Milwaukee looked a lot like the first two games of the season.  The Hoosiers shot 56.7% from the field, and assisted on 23 of 34 makes. It was the third straight game IU has scored 98 or more points and had more than 23 or more assists.  And balanced scoring was once again noteworthy, as the Hoosiers had four players with at least 12 points.  Indiana is averaging 99.7 points per game on the season.

    2. Threes and frees.  One common denominator in Indiana’s early offensive efficiency has been a high level of productivity from beyond the arc and at the stripe.  The Hoosiers were 14 of 28 from three on the night — the third straight game they’ve made double digits threes.  And a healthy portion of the final margin came at the free throw line, where IU scored 19 points on 27 attempts.  The misses at the stripe were uncharacteristic still made for efficient possessions.

    3.  Figuring things out on the glass.  Milwaukee was the aggressor on the boards on both ends early and held a 20-14 rebounding edge at halftime.  But IU ended up with a 35-31 rebounding advantage and kept the Panthers off the offensive glass after they had eight offensive rebounds in the first 12 minutes of the game.  Milwaukee only had five offensive rebounds over the last 28 minutes.
