Indiana advanced to its first round of 32 since 2016 early Saturday morning in Albany.

Awaiting the Hoosiers will be the No. 5 seed Miami Hurricanes (27-7).  They defeated Drake 63-56 on Friday in the game before IU vs. Kent State in Albany.

IU vs. Miami will tip at 8:40 p.m. ET on Sunday evening at the MVP Arena in Albany.  It will be the second of two games in the arena following UConn vs. St. Mary’s.

According to KenPom.com, Miami is the No. 38 overall team in the country, with the No. 12 offense and the No. 112 defense.  KenPom favors Indiana to win, 77-76.

The Hurricanes have four players who average 13 or more points, led by guard Isaiah Wong with 16.2 per game.  Their top six players from a minutes standpoint all shoot 33.3 percent or better from three, with five of them converting at 36 percent or better.

Miami is a guard heavy team, with no one who plays over 12 minutes a game over 6-foot-7.

When it comes to common opponents, Miami defeated Rutgers at home, lost to Maryland on a neutral court, and defeated North Carolina on the road.

IU and Miami have only met once before.  The Hurricanes won that game 58-53 on Dec. 15, 2001 as part of the Orange Bowl Classic.  Indiana went on to the national championship game that season.

We’ll have much more on the Hurricanes over the next two days.
