Indiana stays in Bloomington for week two to face FCS opponent Howard.

The No. 6 Hoosiers (1-0) will host the Bison (1-1) on Saturday afternoon at Noon ET at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington (BTN).

This is the first-ever meeting between Indiana and Howard.

Howard is led by head coach Ted White, who played quarterback for the school from 1995-98.  He has been an assistant coach in the Big Ten, including the quarterbacks coach at UCLA in 2024, and an offensive analyst for Maryland last year.

The Bison defeated Alabama A&M 31-24 to open the 2026 season, and lost on Saturday to Richmond 28-21.

Quarterback Ja’Shawn Scroggins has only completed 44.4% of his throws so far this season, and he’s been sacked eight times already.  Scroggins leads the team in rushing with 88 yards.

Howard is No. 59 in FCS total offense at 338 yards per game.  They’re No. 43 in total defense, at 352.5 yards allowed per contest.

What’s the outlook for this Saturday in Bloomington? As you’d expect, everything is pointing to the Hoosiers by a wide margin.

As of Monday morning, the gambling forecast is calling Indiana a roughly 55.5-point favorite.  In their last two games against FCS schools, IU beat Western Illinois 77-3, and Indiana State 73-0.

ESPN’s FPI model gives IU a 99% chance to win.  The Hoosiers are No. 6 in FPI while Howard is not ranked.

The weather might be better than this past Saturday, but not by a lot.  The early forecast is calling for morning rain with a high temperature of 85 degrees. Obviously you’ll want to check back on that later in the week.

We will of course have much more on this game in the days to come.

To help you plan for this Saturday, here are the gameday details:

    BTN TAILGATE

Another television pregame show will set up shop in Bloomington as the Big Ten Network’s tailgate show is on site.

B1G Tailgate features on-site host Camryn Irwin alongside former Ohio State safety Tyvis Powell, for interviews with a rotation of guests and on-site analysis. Rick Pizzo, Vereen and Sydney Supple will join the duo from Chicago, with B1G Tailgate airing at 10 a.m. ET on Saturday morning.
