The highest-rated recruit in IU football’s 2027 class has reopened his process.
Ohio-based cornerback Monsanna Torbert announced Monday afternoon he has scheduled several visits and is no longer verbally pledged to IU.
Torbert is a 4-star and the No. 16 cornerback in the rising senior class based on the national average of the recruiting outlets. He had previously announced his verbal pledge to IU in January and has since moved up considerably in the rankings.
After committing to IU Torbert continued to announce new offers and took some visits.
Ohio State, Michigan and Notre Dame are thought to be the top contenders for Torbert.
Indiana got a commitment on Saturday from another class of 2027 cornerback — Maryland-based Rico Jackson.
The Hoosiers also have Ohio-based cornerback Chris Bradley visiting next month.
Following this news IU is down to five commits in the 2027 class.
