BLOOMINGTON —  Indiana defeated Bellarmine Thursday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall by a final score of 92-69.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

Indiana led 50-26 at halftime.  They were led in the game by Darren Harris with 23 points.

This breaking story will be updated.

Stay tuned to The Daily Hoosier for more coverage of the game

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Harris leads the way from three.  Indiana had a strong shooting performance from beyond the arc, and third-year guard Darren Harris led the way with a career high 23 points.  Harris made 5 of 10 shots from three, and the Hoosiers made 12 from long range.  Bryce Lindsay hit three.  Freshman Trevor Manhertz knocked down 2 of 3.  IU was 12 of 28 from three (42.8%) midway through the second half before reserves missed their final six once the game was decided.

    2. Highly efficient offense.  The IU offense was more than just three-point shooting.  The Hoosiers made  from 67.8% from two-point range and scored 1.42 points per possession for the game.  Aiden Sherrell, Samet Yigitoglu and Sam Alexis combined to go 12 of 14 from the field.  IU did turn it over 12 times for the game, but had just three giveaways in the first half as the built a 24-point margin at the break.  The Hoosiers managed their efficiency despite an 0 of 7 night from starting point guard Markus Burton.

    3. The bench produces at a high rate.  The nine-man rotation has taken shape for the Hoosiers, and they have several potent weapons off the bench.  With Bryce Lindsay, Sam Alexis and Trevor Manhertz leading the way, the Hoosiers scored 46 points off the bench — exactly half of the total team points.  That trio had 15, 12 and 9, respectively to lead the way.
