C.J. Gunn ended his high school basketball career in style.

Although he has already started working out with the team in Bloomington, the IU basketball freshman had one more prep obligation representing his home state in the annual Indiana All-Stars series against Kentucky.

Gunn followed a 20-point game on Friday in Kentucky with a 21-point performance at Southport Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday.  He was the leading scorer for Indiana in both games and earned team team MVP honors.

Gunn scored the 21 points on Saturday in just over 18 minutes as Indiana triumphed 101-81.

For the two-game series Gunn scored 41 points on 14-of-31 shooting including 4-of-12 from 3-point range.  He was 9-of-10 from the free throw line over the two games, and added eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.  The Indiana All-Stars won 104-77 on Friday night in Kentucky.

“It means a lot,” Gunn said of winning the MVP award.  “Just knowing all that I’ve poured into this game.  It means a lot to me, I’ll definitely cherish this.”

Gunn finished his career at Lawrence North H.S. as that school’s all-time leader in points per game average.

Overall, Indiana has won seven straight in the series with Kentucky and 24 of the last 26 meetings.  It has a 103-44 lead over Kentucky in the all-time series that began in 1939.

    Here’s 3 of C.J. Gunn’s 21 points tonight. Gunn was named MVP in Indiana’s 101-81 win over Kentucky. He scored 41 points in the two wins for the Indiana All-Stars. ⁦@LNHSwildcats⁩ ⁦@ltgoodnews⁩ ⁦@LNBoysHoops⁩ ⁦@LNFanSection_⁩ ⁦@CJ_Gunn22⁩ pic.twitter.com/Uk3sOtHXiO
