IU basketball’s first of three exhibition games in October will be played on the north side of Indianapolis.
The Hoosiers will take on Butler on Sunday, October 11. The tip time and television designation will be announced at a later date.
The game will be played at the iconic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
The game will mark the first of three consecutive Sundays IU will play an exhibition game ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Indiana will also face North Carolina on Oct. 18 in Indianapolis, and Western Kentucky on Oct. 25 in Evansville.
This will be the first of a home-and-home exhibition against the Bulldogs. Butler will return to Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in the 2027 preseason.
This game won’t count in the record books, but IU and Butler have a long history going head-to-head. Indiana’s first-ever games in 1901 were a home-and-home against the Bulldogs.
Indiana and Butler have met 55 times on the court with the Hoosiers claiming 40 victories. IU has played 20 previous games at Hinkle Fieldhouse, which opened in 1928, with 14 resulting in wins. Indiana last played at Butler to open the 1993-94 season.
