BLOOMINGTON – Sometimes, an early nonconference test can result in a sluggish performance. But there’s a difference between underwhelming and downright ugly. The latter was the case during Indiana women’s basketball’s victory against Marshall on Tuesday night, as the Hoosiers battled through a very poor offensive performance to come away with a 57-51 win. Indiana (3-0) simply did not have anything going in the first half. Marshall’s press caused Teri Moren’s offense issues from the jump, forcing 14 Hoosier turnovers in the half.  Even when they did get it across half-court, not much went in their favor. IU shot 31…

In a primetime matchup, teams will always look for ways to capture momentum, especially with a sold-out crowd that can explode at any given play. Those specific moments can be a dream come true for star players on the gridiron. On Saturday against No. 9 Illinois, it would be All-American cornerback D’Angelo Ponds who created one of those moments. But, not in the way you’d think. Across college football, it’s not often you see star-caliber players see snaps consistently on special teams. Usually, the coaching staff leaves those duties to backups. But we certainly haven’t seen the typical from Curt…

After having to wait until the second half in Indiana’s opening game to get his first catch, Elijah Sarratt was fired up last weekend. Beating his chest, he wound his arm enthusiastically to the Indiana sideline, as if to say, “Keep feeding me.” Sarratt had not even been targeted in that game until that moment. Overall, Sarratt would have a decent showing against Old Dominion, catching three passes for 44 yards. Still, heading into week two, he knew he had the opportunity to build off of his performance. “Just executing stuff that I didn’t do well last week,” Sarratt said…
