Indiana appears to be trending for 2025 forward Trent Sisley immediately following his official visit to Bloomington. The 6-foot-7 forward from Santa Claus, Ind. received a prediction to commit to Indiana from 247Sports national analyst Travis Branham on Sunday.  Branham accurately predicted most of Indiana’s spring transfer portal haul in advance of their commitments to IU. Sisley is a 4-star prospect according to the On3 Industry Average, and the No. 78 overall player in the 2025 class. Sisley still has official visits scheduled to Notre Dame and Michigan State over the next few weeks.  The status of those visits will…

The Hoosiers received 67 votes in the new Coaches Poll published Sunday following their 52-14 week four win over Charlotte.  The update places them effectively at No. 27 according to the coaches. Indiana received the seventh most votes in the Coaches Poll among Big Ten teams.  Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, USC, and Illinois are all currently ranked. Indiana’s 4-0 start to the Curt Cignetti era comes with all the caveats of an easy nonconference schedule. But Indiana has faced light early season slates before, and the stats these 2024 Hoosiers have posted through four weeks are still quite impressive, irrespective of the competition. Some of the headline numbers are historic. For example, IU’s 202 points through four games are the most in any four-game stretch in program history. The previous best was 183 points in 2015 (Week 11 through bowl game).  Indiana was the first FBS team to eclipse the 200-point mark in 2024. It took the…

When they get takeaways the rest of this season, don’t look for Indiana defenders to run down to the end zone for a group photo. IU coach Curt Cignetti doesn’t want to see that common NFL practice take hold on his team.  Call him old school if you’d like, but it doesn’t fit the culture the first-year Indiana coach is trying to create. Safety Amare Ferrell has two of Indiana’s four interceptions this year, and each time he took the ball away, he stayed on the field a bit too long to celebrate, and drew the ire of his coach…

Upon further review, C.J. West can play in the first half vs. Charlotte. The IU defensive tackle was flagged for targeting when he made helmet-to-helmet contact with UCLA quarterback Ethan Garbers in the second half of Saturday’s 42-13 Indiana win. That second half penalty carries the added punishment of a first half suspension in the next game.  Indiana plays Charlotte at Noon ET on Saturday in Bloomington. But Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti revealed on his Thursday radio show the Big Ten reviewed the foul and decided to rescind the targeting call. West appeared to be already diving toward Garbers…

After years-upon-years of two-big “buddy ball” and relatively slow-tempo offense that have spanned multiple coaching staffs, it would be reasonable for IU basketball fans to be a bit skeptical about any talk of change coming in those regards in 2024-25. You won’t find anyone who doubts these Hoosiers have talent on their roster.  Many believe it is the most talented team in the Big Ten after Mike Woodson pulled in one of the best transfer portal hauls in the nation. But questions about playing style, and how all of those talented pieces will come together to form a coherent basketball…
