It might be time to upgrade that home entertainment system. While the Big Ten has decided to move forward with the 2020 football season this fall, the league has decided to proceed without fans in the stands. “As a conference we have made a decision, no public sale of tickets,” Penn State director of athletics Sandy Barbour said during a press conference on Wednesday. https://twitter.com/BigTenNetwork/status/1306249004968222721?s=20 The decision to not permit fans was part of the plan that was approved by the 14 Big Ten presidents and chancellors, Barbour added. Accordingly, that decision is highly unlikely to be revisited. Though fans…
UPDATE: The revised 2020 schedule has been released. GO HERE to see it. We don’t know what the revised 2020 Big Ten football schedule looks like yet, but one interesting component of the new plan emerged on Wednesday. Wisconsin Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez has led the efforts to develop a new schedule for a season that will start on the weekend of Oct. 23-24. According to Alvarez, a ninth game is contemplated that will pair the…
The Big Ten conference has now confirmed earlier reports of the return of college football in October. In a release, the league outlined how it was able to reverse an Aug. 11 decision to postpone the season, and the protocols that will be in place for the season that is now expected to begin on the weekend of Oct. 23/24. The league did not release a revised schedule, and it did not comment on whether fans would be allowed to attend games. Later announcements on other fall and winter sports are forthcoming in relatively short order. The league is holding…
(This breaking story will be updated) The Big Ten has reversed the decision league Commissioner Kevin Warren said would not be revisited. According to multiple reports, conference presidents and chancellors have voted to resume the 2020 football season in the fall. Nebraska president Ted Carter was overheard on a hot microphone earlier in the day on Tuesday indicating that “we’re getting ready to announce the Huskers and Big Ten football tonight,” according to a KETV-7 report. Jeff Potrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel confirmed through sources that the hot mic comments by Carter were properly interpreted to mean that the league…
Big Ten football fans don’t touch that dial. And turn up the volume on that microphone. KETV-7 in Omaha picked up Nebraska president Ted Carter on a hot mic on Tuesday, and his brief comment clearly suggests that an announcement from the Big Ten conference is coming on Tuesday evening. “During small talk prior to the start of a news conference Tuesday morning, University of Nebraska President Ted Carter says an announcement of the Husker football season will come Tuesday afternoon or evening,” KETV reported. ‘We’re getting ready to announce the Huskers and Big Ten football tonight’, said Carter in…

While we wait for the Big Ten, the NFL got underway on time this weekend and IU was well represented with 11 former players with teams in various capacities. Take a look at how they did with our quick weekly recap of the Hoosiers in the NFL. Tevin Coleman (RB) – San Francisco 49ers Coleman was questionable to play due to the air quality in California, but he ended up with 4 carries for 18 yards and 1 catch for 6 yards. He is in his sixth year in the NFL and second with San Francisco. Dan Feeney (OL) – Los Angeles…
