Syracuse transfer center Eddie Lampkin has become a player to keep an eye for a couple reasons. According to reports, IU has been in contact with the big man through the transfer portal. It isn’t clear just yet how serious of a pursuit this is for Indiana, and part of the reason why is it isn’t clear how Lampkin could have any eligibility remaining. Both variables — his eligibility and whether things go anywhere with IU — will be interesting to watch unfold.  And for now, we’re covering him as much as a proxy for the state of college basketball…

Roman Hemby arrived at Maryland in 2021, right after Tom Allen led IU through two of their best seasons in program history — to that point. The Indiana Hemby saw his first three seasons left much to be desired.  The Hoosiers went 9-27 over that span.  The Terps beat IU in each of Hemby’s first three seasons playing for Maryland, including a dominant 44-17 win at College Park in 2023. Of course you know what happened next.  Allen was fired, Curt Cignetti was hired, and a switch was flipped. Indiana snapped their three-game losing streak to the Terps in 2024…

Rice is a graduate transfer who entered the portal last week.  Indiana was one of several Power Four programs that offered last week. Rice began his career at West Virginia in 2021 as a…
