The luxury Indiana was enjoying when it started its last two games with all 13 scholarship players available has quickly vanished. The Hoosiers will be down to just 10 available scholarship players when they face Louisiana on Sunday evening. As we previously reported, Trey Galloway is out after having surgery on a wrist injury. Indiana has labeled him as out indefinitely, although social media posts by his family indicate a 4-6 week timeline. As we reported in our Report Card following the St. John’s game, point guard Rob Phinisee has a calf injury and he will not play tonight. Indiana…
No. 15 seed Indiana has advanced to the Sweet 16 after a 2-0 win over Bowling Green on Sunday afternoon in Bloomington. Early in the second half, Ryan Wittenbrink put a crossing shot on the goal that was deflected to Victor Bezerra who whipped in the first score of the match from 10 yards away. 13 minutes later Herbert Endeley drew the entire Bowling Green defense with him to the center of the field, leaving a streaking Spencer Glass alone wide. Endeley found the IU captain and Glass sent a laser off the far post and into the back of…

It wasn’t that Trayce Jackson-Davis was being lazy. That’s not how he sees it anyway. Playing in former head coach Archie Miller’s defensive system, if Jackson-Davis was on the help side and someone attacked the rim, he wasn’t supposed to cross the lane and try to block the shot. “In the other defense (Miller’s) I was more of an anchor and I needed to block out my guys,” Jackson-Davis said. Head coach Mike Woodson has a different view of how Jackson-Davis should be utilized as a help side defender in his more aggressive scheme. Basically, the new IU head coach…
With Indiana up seven early in the second quarter, Donaven McCulley handed off to Davion Ervin-Poindexter on 3rd and 5 from the IU 27. The play gained a yard, Indiana was forced to punt, and Minnesota scored a touchdown on the ensuing drive. Later in the second quarter, with the game tied at seven, McCulley ran on a read option on 3rd and 10 from the IU 25. At this point it would be insane to expect different results. For the third week in a row, Indiana’s inept, mistake-prone offense gave the Hoosiers no opportunity to salvage a win in their final home game of the season against Minnesota. Instead IU fell to Minnesota 35-14 at a sparsely populated Memorial Stadium in Bloomington on Senior Day. IU has now been outscored 102-24 over the last three weeks, and the offense has gained 262 or less yards in each game. Over their now seven game losing streak they’ve been outscored 238 to 81. 35 of those 81 points came…
