Follow along with live updates below as Indiana takes on No. 7 Purdue at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette, Ind.

Feel free also to join the discussion thread below to share your views.

The Hoosiers and Boilermakers tip off at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.

    ———————————————————————–

    FINAL

    SECOND HALF

Purdue leads Indiana 89-57 at the under-4 media timeout in the second half.

    • IU has four players in double-figure scoring: Lamar Wilkerson (16), Tucker DeVries (11), Reed Bailey (10), and Tayton Conerway (10).
    • This has been a quietly solid performance by Conerway, his best in a while since dealing with injury and illness over the last month. He has seven assists as well.
    • But the Boilers have torched IU on the other end. TKR has 20 points, Braden Smith is at 15, Omer Mayer is up to 18 with a big second half, and Fletcher Loyer is at 18 as well.

    76-51 Boilers at the under-8.

    • Conor Enright just fouled out heading into the timeout. Reed Bailey has four, and Nick Dorn has three.
    • This is shaping up to be one of Indiana’s most lopsided losses in this rivalry. It shouldn’t reach the 120-76 loss in 1969, but with the Hoosiers down by 25 points with eight minutes left, it might be the worst defeat since then.

Purdue’s lead is up to 68-45 at the under-12 timeout.

    • Trent Sisley checked in for the first time tonight during the last segment. Darian DeVries is clearly trying anything to get this team going here.
    • Everything is just coming way too easy for Purdue on both ends. It’s like varsity against JV.

Darian DeVries has called two timeouts already in the second half, just over four minutes in. Purdue’s lead is up to 58-35.

    • IU just has no answer for Trey Kaufman-Renn inside. He’s up to 20 points on 8-for-10 shooting. Sam Alexis and Reed Bailey have not been able to contain him, at all.

We are off in the second half at Purdue. IU has a lot of work to do.

    HALFTIME

    Image

Purdue leads IU at halftime 46-29.

    • Nick Dorn made a three at the buzzer, but replay showed he didn’t get it off in time.
    • Meanwhile, Dorn had a brutal half defensively. IU really had a poor defensive half altogether, but Dorn was maybe the biggest issue out there. He couldn’t defend without fouling, at all.
    • IU has a lot of work to do on both ends to make this a game again. Purdue is scoring 1.48 points per possession, the Hoosiers are at 1.000. IU is trending in the right direction there, but it won’t matter if the defense doesn’t improve.

    FIRST HALF

Indiana trails Purdue 34-21 at the final media timeout of the first half.

    • Fouls are becoming a massive problem. Conor Enright now has three, and Lamar Wilkerson, Sam Alexis, and Reed Bailey all have two. The Hoosiers have 12 team fouls. The game has been called pretty tightly, a few ticky-tack calls, and a few questionable calls — both ways. But Indiana can’t blame the refs for the foul trouble here. This team has fouled too much.
    • Offensively, IU did get some better looks in that last segment, finally starting to get some easier penetration into the lane and converting some of those looks. But Purdue has stretched this lead out, and honestly, IU is lucky this deficit isn’t even worse.

23-14 Boilers at the under-8 timeout.

    • Indiana is scoring 0.824 points per possession, while allowing 1.353 on the other end. Darian DeVries needs to get his group composed and locked in before it’s too late.
    • Tucker DeVries is the only IU player with any offensive rhythm early. He has eight of IU’s 14 points.

Indiana has gotten a little more going, with the last segment finishing even at 5-5. Purdue leads 15-8 at the under-12 timeout.

    • Tucker DeVries is 2 for 2 from 3-point range. Obviously would be huge if IU can get him rolling today.
    • Tayton Conerway was a little unfortunate to pick up an offensive foul during that segment — looked like it could’ve gone the other way.
    • It still feels like the Boilers are controlling the tempo of this game. The Hoosiers have shown indecisiveness offensively, and they’ve already committed four turnovers.

10-3 Purdue at the first media timeout.

    • It’s not going well for the Hoosiers here early. The offense has had a few stalled and broken possessions, seemingly hoping Lamar Wilkerson can make a play out of nothing. Sam Alexis missed a makable look inside as well.
    • Defensively, IU is letting Purdue get into the paint way too easily. Just not a good recipe to beat that team.

Game on in West Lafayette. It is extremely loud in here, as you’d expect.

Same starting lineup for IU tonight as Darian DeVries has rolled out for the last month or so. Purdue’s lineup is as expected, as well.

Pretty clean availability report for both sides. Big game for the Hoosiers tonight, with a quad I opportunity they really need on their résumé.
