Senior guard Ali Patberg scored 15 of her 19 points in the second quarter but No. 4/6 Indiana fell short in a 69-66 loss to defending national champion No. 7/5 Stanford on Thursday at the Pink Flamingo Championship in the Bahamas. Indiana had chances to tie the game including a missed pair of free throws from Grace Berger with nine seconds remaining, and after one in the bonus for Stanford, a good look from Patberg on a left wing triple rimmed in and out. “We are disappointed. Ali got a good look there at the end, it just didn’t go…

Don’t hold your breath waiting for a war of words between Indiana’s Tom Allen and Purdue’s Jeff Brohm to get you fired up for this weekend’s Old Oaken Bucket game. There will be no Harbaugh-Meyer like barbs exchanged through the media. Whatever hatred is felt by Indiana fans toward Purdue, and vice versa, that sentiment isn’t shared by the coaches towards one another. And that is despite what seems like every opportunity for some bad blood to have been generated at some point over the last five years. Both coaches took over their respective programs for the 2017 season, both…

Dunking in games since the seventh grade, class of 2025 wing Trent Sisley’s game has always been ahead of the curve. Naturally, his college recruitment has followed along that same path. Indiana offered the Heritage Hills High School (Lincoln City, Ind.) freshman on Tuesday, still a few days before he plays his first high school game. Sisley reported the offer on his Twitter page. https://twitter.com/SisleyTrent/status/1463249873176772618?s=20 IU is the second high major program to offer Sisley, following in-state rival Purdue. The recruitments of local phenoms can take on a life of their own in Indiana, but Sisley’s father Matt believes his…
Two more IU football players put their names in the transfer portal this week as linebacker/bull D.K. Bonhomme and defensive lineman C.J. Person became the latest to move on from the program. The exit by the pair this week marks the latest of several in season transfers including wide receiver Jacolby Hewitt, running back Tim Baldwin, cornerback Larry Tracy, wide receiver Da’Shaun Brown and tight end Kham Taylor. Running back Sampson James also left during fall camp. While head coach Tom Allen had expressed frustration with some of the earlier midseason entries into the portal, conversations, especially with injured players,…
Indiana continued to take care of business in impressive fashion on Tuesday night as it mowed through another mid-major at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. After letting Jackson State hang around early, Parker Stewart hit a three-pointer to give the Hoosiers a 29-15 late first half lead and they never looked back. Let’s take a closer look at the win with this edition of the Report Card. IU (5-0) will host Marshall on Saturday evening at 7 p.m. Eastern OFFENSE (B-) Indiana inverted their performance against Louisiana, with less turnovers but poorer shooting efficiency. They cut their turnover rate…
