As is the case each season, the Big Ten is rolling out kick times and television designations a couple weeks ahead of each game. Or in some cases, just days before the game like this week. The league office released details for Indiana’s week 11 game at Penn State this coming Saturday. The Hoosiers and Nittany Lions will kick at Noon ET inside Beaver Stadium. The game will air on FOX. Indiana (9-0) has never won at Penn State in 13 tries, and the Hoosiers have lost three straight overall in the series since a dramatic 36-35 overtime win in…
There seems to be no clear formula for Indiana’s success this season — and that might explain better than anything else why the Hoosiers are so dominate. Maybe if you can get off to a fast start you can get in their heads a little bit? Maryland tried that. They appeared to be the dominant team very early at SECU Stadium Saturday afternoon. The Terps intercepted IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza’s second pass, and stuffed the Hoosier offense on their first two drives. Perhaps Mike Locksley’s squad found an unknown weakness in the IU offense that could be exploited for the…

Indiana picked up a commitment from class of 2026 wing Vaughn Karvala on Saturday afternoon. He announced the decision at his school with his family. The 6-foot-6 Karvala is the No. 42 ranked player in the 2026 class. Karvala chose IU over Xavier and California. He took an official visit to Indiana Oct. 17-19, and shut down his recruitment shortly thereafter. Karvala will play his senior season in Arizona at Bella Vista Prep in the EYBL Scholastic League. He’s a long athletic wing and a high-level 3-point shooter who should fit well in coach Darian DeVries’ system. As a junior…

Indiana’s injury report for Saturday’s game against Maryland has more to note than normal. Starting left guard Drew Evans is out for the Hoosiers, along with kickoff specialist Brendan Franke. Meanwhile linebacker Aiden Fisher is listed as questionable. Fisher left last weekend’s game vs. UCLA with a knee injury. Coach Curt Cignetti said earlier this week Fisher was probable to play this week. If Fisher were unable to play, Isaiah Jones would fill in. Defensive end Kellan Wyatt was officially described as out for the season in this week’s report. He joins Lee Beebe, Jr. and Bryson Bonds with that…

With the Fox Big Noon Kickoff crew in town last week ahead of Indiana’s game against UCLA, quarterback Fernando Mendoza sought out some advice. With the Heisman Trophy noise growing with each week, Mendoza reached out to former USC quarterback and 2004 Heisman Trophy winner Matt Leinart, an analyst on the Fox pregame show. Among other things, Leinart says he told Mendoza to focus on one play, and one game at a time, which was likely music to IU coach Curt Cignetti’s ears. But the very idea his quarterback was even thinking about that outside noise enough to discuss it…
It’s homecoming weekend at Maryland when No. 2 Indiana takes on the Terrapins at SECU Stadium on Saturday (3:30 p.m. ET, CBS). That typically doesn’t mean much for the visiting team, but this weekend’s game will certainly have special significance for running back Roman Hemby. The senior running back is a Maryland native who spent the first four seasons of his college career playing for coach Mike Locksley and the Terps. He’s not the only Hoosier who started his career in College Park. Defensive end Kellan Wyatt played his first three seasons at for Maryland. Unfortunately for Wyatt, he won’t…
