Former Indiana center Kel’el Ware has folks in Miami believing the Heat made the right choice. On Monday, Ware was named to the NBA 2K25 All-Summer League first team. In five games in Las Vegas, Ware has averaged 17.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.2 steals and 1.2 assists in 25.5 minutes per game.  He has shot 58.6 percent overall, and 33.3 percent from three. Braylon Mullins’ list of suitors just kept growing all spring and summer. On Monday he started the process of narrowing things back down. Reported through multiple national outlets, Mullins has cut his list down to 10 possible destinations. The 10 schools Mullins will consider going forward are Alabama, Duke, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, North Carolina, Purdue, Tennessee, and UConn. Miller Kopp was not going to be denied. The waiting began in Las Vegas on Saturday at his final NBA Summer League game with the Oklahoma City Thunder.  There, he was waiting to hear his name called for one more opportunity to prove his ability to compete at the highest level. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — IU basketball alumni team Assembly Ball has advanced to the round-of-16 in the $1 million winner-takes-all The Basketball Tournament. Assembly Ball defeated Purdue alumni team Men of Mackey by a final score of 68=55 at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Sunday evening. The winners were led by Kristian Doolittle with 14 points.  Yogi Ferrell added 13. Men of Mackey shot just 30.1% from the field. The game featured the debuts of IU basketball alumni Miller Kopp and Jordan Hulls.  Kopp scored seven points.  Hulls made a brief appearance and did not score. 40 years ago this summer, legendary IU basketball coach Bob Knight was leading Team USA to Olympic gold in Los Angeles. On his team was guard Steve Alford, who had just completed his freshman season under Knight at Indiana. Juwan Morgan is one of the bridges on Assembly Ball, the IU basketball TBT alumni team. He played as a freshman on the 2016 Big Ten title team that featured Assembly Ball teammates Yogi Ferrell and Troy Williams. And Morgan also played with Assembly Ball teammates Race Thompson and Devonte Green in his later years in Bloomington. In a battle of heavyweights, Indiana is making it clear how much they want class of 2025 5-star forward Nate Ament. The full IU coaching staff — head coach Mike Woodson and assistants Kenya Hunter, Yasir Rosemond and Brian Walsh — convened in Marietta, Ga. to watch the 6-foot-9 combo forward.
