Forced to rebuild his roster via the transfer portal for a second year in a row, IU basketball coach Darian DeVries has assembled one of the nation’s best incoming transfer groups in 2026. With seven new players coming to IU via the transfer portal including six from the high-major ranks, ESPN’s Jeff Borzello says IU amassed the No. 6 portal haul this offseason. While the transfer class is national top-10, Indiana is ranked in the No. 20 to 30 range in most early outlooks for the 2026-27 season.  That’s because the Hoosiers returned just one player from last year’s team,…

Former IU basketball star OG Anunoby had the best performance of his career on the game’s biggest stage. Anunoby scored 33 points and tipped-in a Jalen Brunson miss to give the New York Knicks a 107-106 win over San Antonio in Game 4 of the 2026 NBA Finals.  The Knicks rallied from a 29-point deficit — the biggest comeback in NBA Playoff history — and now lead the series 3-1. Anunoby made the sideline inbound pass and immediately headed to the rim in anticipation of the Brunson shot.  The Spurs had 7-foot-4 Victor Wembanyama guarding Brunson 30 feet from the…

Tucker DeVries has a five-year college body of work that includes twice being named conference player of the year. There’s belief in some circles he can return to that form and become a viable NBA contributor. In his full 60-pick 2026 mock NBA Draft, CBS Sports’ Adam Finkelstein has DeVries going to the Golden State Warriors in the second round with the 54th overall pick. Here’s what Finkelstein said about putting DeVries in that spot. “I got to see DeVries work out this spring and thought he looked healthier than he has in several years. There’s no question he’s a…

Production over potential. It’s one of IU football coach Curt Cignetti’s favorite lines when discussing the transfer portal. Some desperate to explain Indiana’s 16-0 national championship season will tell you that means the Hoosiers are winning with 28-year-old 10th-year seniors.  While that’s obviously not the case, Cignetti is winning with veterans, and he seeks them out when looking to fill holes on his roster. You were a 4-star recruit?  Oh, that’s nice.  But what have done on a college football field? “Production over potential. There’s something about that,” Cignetti said when he spoke to AFCA Convention in 2025.  “The guy…

Class of 2028 guard Antoine Caughman is an early name to know for IU basketball among rising juniors. Indiana offered Caughman a scholarship in late May.  They were one of the first high majors to enter the mix. The 6-foot-5 Caughman is from Columbia, S.C. and attends Keenan H.S.  As a high school sophomore, he averaged a team-high 15.5 points per game to go with 5.2 rebounds and 2.6 assists per contest.  His shooting splits were 44% overall, 29% from three, and 75% from the free throw line. Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, Caughman is a…

From athletes and coaches to advocates and investors, these are the people shaping sports today, says Time Magazine. Time included IU football coach Curt Cignetti on the list of the Top 100 most influential people in sports, including him as one of the “titans.” Here’s what Time said about Cignetti: Two words will forever be associated with Curt Cignetti, who led Indiana to its first national football championship in January: “Google me.” That’s what Cignetti said at the national-signing-day press conference in 2023 when asked how he was going to sell his vision for the Hoosiers to high school recruits…

Congratulations to former Indiana quarterback Brendan Sorsby. No, not for his shameful victory in a Texas court that will ostensibly allow him to play college football in 2026. Rather, congrats to Sorsby for finding the one issue that has near universal backing from fans and the media in support of the NCAA — save for some intellectually dishonest Texas Tech fans. Just how egregiously must one behave to rally sports fans and the media behind the NCAA? By his own admission, Sorsby placed thousands of bets totaling at least $90,000 in clear violation of NCAA rules, including dozens involving his…

Nobody outside the IU football program thought the Hoosiers could do it. For nearly three years, no one had done it. Coming into their Oct. 11 home game against IU, the No. 2 ranked Oregon Ducks had won 24 straight regular season games, and 19 straight at Autzen Stadium.  They were 41-1 at home going back to 2018. The odds were literally stacked against Indiana. Vegas had Oregon as a 7.5 point favorite, and ESPN’s FPI gave the Hoosiers just a 32% chance to win. The Ducks came in averaging 46.6 points per game, and quarterback Dante Moore was the…
