Indiana has made their first formal scholarship offer in the class of 2027. Baba Oladotun announced an offer from IU on his X page on Wednesday afternoon. Listed at around 6-foot-9 and 175 pounds by most outlets, Oladotun hails from Silver Springs, Md. (James Hubert Blake H.S.) In 2024-25, Indiana will have the exact same number of nonconference games against mid and low-major opponents that they’ve had in each of Mike Woodson’s previous three seasons as head coach: seven. But somehow this edition of the Hoosiers’ nonconference slate announced on Tuesday has the fan base a bit more restless than in years past. Indiana picked up a commitment from class of 2025 interior offensive lineman Baylor Wilkin on Tuesday evening. He announced the decision on his social media pages. Wilkin was at IU on multiple occasions in June, both for a camp and later in the month for an official visit.  Indiana was his first Power Four offer. The 6-foot-4 and 275-pound Findlay, Ohio product has a 3-star ranking at 247Sports. Indiana’s two programs that generate the most profit for the athletic department are likely to be impacted by upcoming changes to the name, image and likeness rules in different ways. The most notable prospective change fueled by a lawsuit settlement agreed to by the NCAA is expected direct payments by schools to athletes beginning in 2025. In the first year of the settlement, it’s expected that each school can share 22% of the average Power 5 school’s revenues, which is currently projected to be significantly more than $20 million per school, per year. Make that four former IU basketball players on an NBA Summer League roster this month. Forward Miller Kopp is with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the team announced. He’s listed at 6-foot-7 and 215 pounds and will wear No. 42. The Thunder will be playing summer league games in both Salt Lake City and Las Vegas. Kopp played the 2023-24 season for the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA’s G League. That team won the league title with Kopp averaging 6.3 points and 2.5 rebounds while shooting 31.1 percent from three. Indiana swimming and diving senior Ching Hwee Gan will be one of five swimmers to represent Singapore at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Singapore Aquatics announced on Monday. Gan received an Olympics Consideration Time (OCT) invitation based on her best time in the 1,500-meter freestyle, swimming a national record 16:10.61 in June. She also posted an OCT in the 800-meter freestyle, setting another national record in 8:34.01, and will get to compete in the second individual event. Indiana has picked up a commitment from highly sought after class of 2025 athlete/cornerback Seaonta Stewart. The Cincinnati, Ohio product announced his decision at his high school on Monday afternoon. Stewart took an official visit to IU a couple weeks ago.  The Hoosiers offered in January, and he also visited around that time. “I feel like it was the right place for me. I like what the new staff has in plan for the future,” Stewart told Allen Trieu, a national reporter for 247Sports. Former IU baseball pitcher Tanner Gordon made his Major League Baseball debut on Sunday afternoon in Denver. Throwing for the Colorado Rockies, Gordon got off to a good start, with two strikeouts and a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first. But Kansas City posted four runs against Gordon, all earned, in the second. Gordon settled in from there, throwing four straight scoreless innings.  He was chased out in the top of the 7th with one out after giving up a solo home run.  Colorado’s hitters provided no support, producing no runs during Gordon’s time on the mound.
