Might Tayven Jackson follow in his brother’s footsteps at IU? The younger brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, Jackson is in the transfer portal and planning to visit IU on Saturday, The Daily Hoosier can confirm. The former top-200 4-star prospect could provide an immediate boost to Indiana’s quarterback room going into spring practice if they can land him. The 6-foot-3 Jackson was Tennessee’s No. 3 quarterback in 2022 behind Hendon Hooker and Joe Milton before suffering a left shoulder injury in October.  He was back practicing in December and should be fully available for spring practice wherever he lands. Indiana could have Race Thompson back in a few weeks, Jeff Goodman of Stadium is reporting. “Indiana big man Race Thompson has a sprained MCL,” Goodman said on Twitter, via a source.  “The hope is that Thompson can return sometime in early to mid-February.” The Daily Hoosier inquired of IU Athletics on Friday after Goodman’s report, but they were unable to confirm a timetable for Thompson’s return.  Indiana has only said that his return is indefinite. Let’s take a look at some common themes in Indiana’s defensive breakdowns. DRIVES TO THE PAINT Penn State guard Jalen Pickett is exceptional at getting to the paint area and breaking down defenses either via scoring opportunities or kick-out…

The season appears to be in crisis mode now as Indiana already has four losses in the Big Ten just five games in.  And the Hoosiers haven’t yet hit the meat of their league schedule. IU played reasonable well early, and held a 15-13 lead midway through the first half.  But that lead was met with an 8-0 run, and from there the defense imploded.  The Nittany Lions dropped 24 on IU over the last 10 minutes of the first half, and another 48 in the second half. Let’s take a deeper look at how the Hoosiers lost 85-66 with…
