Indiana and quarterback Fernando Mendoza are utilizing the bye week to build his case as a Heisman Trophy contender.
Mendoza’s numbers are doing most of the talking. He is the first FBS quarterback since at least 1996 with multiple games of .900 completion percentage and four-or-more touchdown passes in the same season. He leads FBS in touchdowns responsible for (30 Passing, 5 Rushing) and points responsible for (210). And right now he is the only FBS quarterback with 30-plus passing touchdowns.
The redshirt junior from Miami, Fla. has been active on the interview circuit in recent days. Watch below as he met Urban Meyer, Mark Ingram and Rob Stone on the Triple Option podcast. Mendoza and Meyer had a fascinating discussion about football X’s and O’s.
Further below Mendoza you can see Mendoza’s discussion with the Heisman Trophy podcast, and the video IU created highlighting his HeisMendoza campaign and LinkedIn page.
