Indiana football made the cut for 4-star linebacker Roman Igwebuike.
The four-star linebacker attends Mount Carmel High School in Chicago.
This week, Rivals national recruiting analyst Hayes Fawcett reported Igwebuike is down to Indiana, Notre Dame, Clemson, Missouri and Tennessee. He has official visits scheduled with each program, and a commitment date set for July 11.
Igewbuike’s IU official visit is his first among the finalists. He’ll be in Bloomington May 15-17.
According to the industry average, he is the No. 161 overall player, and the No. 15 linebacker in the 2027 class.
The 6-foot-3, 225-pound Igwebuike led Mt. Carmel to a state championship as a junior. He had 115 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks while also recording two interceptions, three forced fumbles, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups.
Igwebuike also had offers from the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), Texas, Oregon and others.
Indiana does not have a linebacker commit in the 2027 class to this point. IU is also generating a lot of buzz with North Carolina-based four-star linebacker Jalaythan Mayfield. The Hoosiers put Aiden Fisher in the NFL Draft last month. He was selected by the Houston Texans.
IU has four commits in the 2027 class overall thus far.
