Indiana has been recruiting the 6-foot-4 DeMatha High School product since assistant coach Kenya Hunter joined the staff in August.
Rice told Rivals’ national writer Jamie Shaw this weekend that Indiana was one of a relatively small group of schools that he was considering for a visit this summer.
“They are a historic program there,” Rice told Shaw of Indiana. “I have been in contact with the new assistant coach Kenya Hunter, he was recruiting me already when he was at UConn so when he moved out there, he continued to recruit me.”
The Daily Hoosier caught up with DeMatha head coach Mike Jones to discuss Rice and his teammate and fellow IU target Tyrell Ward a couple months ago.
