Kick time and television designation set for Purdue at Indiana

The kick time and television designation are set for Indiana’s regular season finale against Purdue in Bloomington.

The battle for the Old Oaken Bucket will kick at Memorial Stadium Saturday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. ET and air on FS1.  The game is sold out.  For tickets, use our StubHub affiliate link by GOING HERE.

We’re working to confirm, but this could be the first ever evening kickoff in the history of the series.  There have been plenty of games that kicked off in the late afternoon and ended under the lights.

This will be the 126th game in the IU vs. Purdue football series, with the Boilermakers holding a 77-42-6 advantage all-time.

Indiana (10-1, 7-1) will be competing for a chance to stay in the College Football Playoff conversation.  Meanwhile Purdue (1-10, 0-8) has not defeated an FBS team this year, and has not won since Labor Day weekend.  ESPN’s FPI gives IU a 97.7% chance to win.

It wasn’t until 1925 that the schools began competing for the Old Oaken Bucket. The standard and most widely quoted historical accounts on the origins of the Bucket claim it was taken from a farm between Kent and Hanover, Indiana that was owned by a family named Bruner.

This year’s matchup will be the 99th edition of the Old Oaken Bucket Game. Purdue holds a 63-32-3 advantage when the Bucket is up for grabs.  IU has not won the Bucket since 2019, with Purdue winning the last three meetings.  Indiana would have been a heavy favorite to win against Purdue in 2020, but the game was canceled.
