After a program first Elite Eight appearance in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, the Indiana Women’s Basketball program is both respected and in demand.

The Hoosiers are ranked among the top teams in the country, coming in at No. 7 in ESPNW’s Way Too Early Top 25 and No. 8 in the NCAA.com preseason poll.

The high expectations come from the fact that IU returns all five starters from last season’s Elite Eight campaign that included a 21-6 overall record and a best-ever 16-2 mark in Big Ten play. Junior forward Mackenzie Holmes and senior guard Grace Berger are All-Americans and highlight IU’s veteran group along with seventh-year senior guard Ali Patberg and senior forward Aleksa Gulbe, who all earned All-Big Ten honors a season ago.

The Hoosiers will play in front of national television audiences 13 times in the upcoming 2021-22 season, announced by the Big Ten on Tuesday.

Potential non-conference Top 25 showdowns against Kentucky (Nov. 14) will air on the ESPN family of networks and NC State in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge (Dec. 2) will air on ESPN2. The Hoosiers will also appear against Maryland to begin the new year (Jan. 2) and at Michigan (Jan. 31) on ESPN2.

Indiana will play its first game on FS1 this season when it travels to Rutgers (Dec. 30). Additionally, it will appear on Big Ten Network eight times throughout the conference schedule.

The season will begin on Nov. 10 when IU travels to Butler followed by the home opener against Kentucky on Nov. 14.
