Indiana softball is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season.
The Hoosiers earned the No. 3 seed in the Fayetteville Regional, and they’ll take on No. 2 seed Oklahoma State in the first round on Friday at 4 p.m. ET. The winner of that game will face the winner between No. 1 seed Arkansas and No. 4 seed Saint Louis for a spot in the regional final.
IU enters the NCAA Tournament with a 33-18 overall record on the season. Shonda Stanton’s team went 10-12 in Big Ten play, and defeated Washington in the Big Ten Tournament before falling to UCLA in the quarterfinals.
All-Big Ten first team selection Taylor Minnick has enjoyed a very strong season for the Hoosiers, ranking fifth in the nation and first in the Big Ten with a .470 batting average. Her .579 on-base percentage ranks seventh in the country and first in the conference, and she slugged a remarkable .973, good for sixth in the country and second in the Big Ten. Indiana will rely on her to produce in the postseason.
