    IU football 2025 spring game: Live updates and postgame recap video

    BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Indiana’s 2025 spring football game is Thursday evening at 8 p.m. at Memorial Stadium.

    PREGAME PLAYER NOTES

    Wide receiver Elijah Sarratt is in sweatpants and will not play.

    Cornerback Amariyun Knighten has a crutch and will not play.

    Defensive linemen Andrew Turvy and Andrew Depaepe are also inactive.

    Offensive linemen Kahlil Benson and Drew Evans missed the entire spring including tonight’s game.

    IN GAME PLAYER NOTES

    • Rolijah Hardy lines up at a starting linebacker spot.
    • D’Angelo Ponds and Jamari Sharpe appear to be the first team corners.
    • Fernando Mendoza is a surprise to no one as the first team QB
    • Kaelon Black, Roman Hemby and Lee Beebe, Jr. all see the field at running back on the first series for the offense.
    • Alberto Mendoza is the second team QB, Grant Wilson third team.

    SCORING PLAYS

    The game is offense vs. defense.  Only two quarters will be played.

    FIRST QUARTER

    • Fernando Mendoza to Omar Cooper for a 13-yard touchdown. 7-0 offense.
    • Defense gets off the field on the second drive.  Freshman safety Byron Baldwin with a PBU.  7-3 offense.
    • Rolijah Hardy intercepts Fernando Mendoza on a tipped pass at the line.  He returns it 46 yards for a score.  10-7 defense.
    • 32-yard field goal by Nico Radicic makes it 10-10.
    • After one quarter it is 10-10.

    SECOND QUARTER

    • Defense gets a stop on the first series with Alberto Mendoza still in at QB.  It’s 13-10 defense.
    • Khobie Martin fumbled, recovered by Seaonta Stewart Jr.  It’s now 17-10 defense.
    • A Lee Beebe, Jr. 5-yard rushing touchdown ties the game at 17.
      • Beebe had a 25-yard reception on the drive as well.
    • A defensive stop gives them the lead back 20-17 with 9:24 left in the game.
    • Another defensive stop makes it 23-17 defense leads with 9:04 left.  Grant Wilson in at QB for the last two drives.
    • Fernando Mendoza to Cooper for a 12-yard passing score.  24-23 offense leads, 5:43 left.
      • Key play:  Kaelon Black 41-yard run.
    • It’s 24-23 offense with two minutes remaining.
    • Alberto Mendoza to LeBron Bond for a six-yard TD makes it 31-23 offense with 1:22 left.
    • FINAL:  Offense 31  Defense 23.

    We’ll have comments from Curt Cignetti and the players later Thursday evening.

    SCORING SYSTEM

    The squad was split between the offense and defense with the scoring system as follows:

    Touchdown – 6 points

    Extra Point – 1 point

    Field Goal – 3 points

    Turnover Gained – 4 points

    Defensive Stop/Punt Forced – 3 points

    Safety – 2 points
