Men’s Basketball to Host Cream & Crimson Scrimmage Presented by Smithville
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Indiana men’s basketball program will host an intrasquad scrimmage at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Oct. 3, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The event is open to the public. Doors will open at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET.
The Cream & Crimson Scrimmage Presented by Smithville will provide Hoosier Nation with its first official look at the program under first-year head coach Darian DeVries.
Indiana began an offseason of change with the hiring of DeVries, the 31st head coach in program history, on March 19, 2025. The new-look staff comprised of assistant coaches Drew Adams, Rod Clark, Kenny Johnson, and Nick Norton brought in the 10th-ranked transfer portal class according to 247Sports.
The Hoosiers went 3-0 during their Puerto Rico Foreign Tour with a pair of come-from-behind victories over Mega Superbet, a Serbian professional squad. Fifth-year senior guard Lamar Wilkerson (15.7 points per game) and sixth-year senior guard Tayton Conerway (13.0) led IU in scoring over the course of the week.
The event will be free, and attendees are asked to bring a canned food item to donate to the Hoosier Hills Food Bank.
