IU basketball still a contender for 2025 big man Eric Reibe

Class of 2025 7-footer Eric Reibe is in the process of narrowing things down.

The Maryland-based center announced his top-11 schools through multiple national outlets on Thursday and included Indiana.

The other 10 programs on the list are UConn, Kentucky, UNC, Kansas, Creighton, Oregon, Harvard, West Virginia, Ohio State, and Stanford.

Indiana offered Reibe more than a year ago, back in May of 2023.  Their interaction with him has been relatively quiet since.  But the lefty center’s profile has been on the rise this spring and summer, in part because he is a good shooter.

A native of Germany, he is now the No. 38 overall recruit in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

When the IU offer came in last year, Reibe was aware of Indiana basketball despite his German heritage.

“They have a rich basketball tradition, and a very enthusiastic fan base,” Reibe told TDH at the time.

Assistant coach Kenya Hunter has been leading IU’s recent increased recruiting efforts with Reibe.

He averaged 19.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game at the NBPA Top 100 Camp in Orlando in June, and that’s when his profile really seemed to take off.

In an interview with 247Sports national analyst Dushawn London published on Thursday, Reibe said he sees an opportunity to play as a freshman with IU.

“I would be able to play right away because two of their bigs will be seniors in their fifth year,” he told London.  “I would come in and a spot would be open. They also always send pros to the league.”

Reibe attends Bullis School in Potomac, Md.  He joins Malachi Moreno and Chris Cenac as the main center targets on Indiana’s 2025 board.

Highlights of Reibe with his German national team are below.
