Indiana’s wave of class of 2026 news continued into Thursday evening as Kansas-based center Ethan Taylor announced he’d received an offer from the the IU staff.
The 7-foot-1 and 245-pound Taylor specifically thanked new IU assistant coach Rod Clark when announcing his offer on X.
Taylor also has high major offers from Missouri, Oklahoma, Purdue and Tennessee so far. Clark was an assistant coach at Tennessee until recently and he’s from the Kansas City area. Tennessee offered Taylor last June.
Looking at the national recruiting sites, Taylor is a consensus 4-star, and on average ranked No. 49 overall in the 2026 class and the No. 5 center.
As a junior for Shawnee Mission Northwest H.S. (Shawnee, Kan.), Taylor averaged 14 points, 10 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. He was named first team all-state. With one season to go, he is already his school’s all-time leader in blocked shots and rebounds. His high school team has won back-to-back state titles while going 47-3 in the process.
For spring and summer basketball, Taylor plays for the MOKAN Elite program on the Nike EYBL circuit. Clark used to coach MOKAN Elite. Taylor has posted 11.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15 minutes per game on the EYBL thus far this spring.
