Indiana has offered one of the nation’s top high school guards.
King Gibson announced an offer from the Hoosiers earlier this week.
Based on the average of the national recruiting sites, the 6-foot-4 Gibson is a 5-star, the No. 5 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 1 combo guard. There’s a chance Gibson will reclassify to 2026, he has told multiple outlets over the last couple months.
A product of North Carolina, Gibson currently plays for Spire Academy in Ohio. He was a teammate of Trent Sisley at Montverde a year ago. Gibson started his high school career at The Burlington School, a private academy in his North Carolina hometown.
Gibson is a complete player, who can score inside and out, he’s a playmaker off the bounce, and he defends at a high level.
In EYBL Scholastic games this season for Spire, Gibson is averaging 15.2 points while shooting 48% overall and 48% from three. He’s also an 81% free throw shooter. Gibson is also posting 4.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals in around 30.6 minutes per game.
For travel basketball Gibson plays for Team United on the Nike EYBL Circuit. In 16u last summer, Gibson averaged 16.7 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.6 assists while shooting 42.9% from 3-point range.
N.C. State, North Carolina, Alabama, Houston, Arkansas, and Missouri are same of the high majors involved with Gibson right now.
Indiana currently has one commit in the 2027 class — Missouri-based guard Chase Branham. They have three commits in the 2026 class.
