Indiana has offered the top shot blocker in the 2027 class.
Rising senior center Lewis Uvwo announced an offer from the IU staff on his Instagram page.
The 6-foot-10 Uvwo attends Prolific Prep in Florida. He is a native of Lagos, Nigeria.
Based on the 247Sports Composite, Uvwo is a 4-star, the No. 30 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 4 center.
Uvwo will bring elite shot blocking and overall defense to the next level, along with finishing at the rim via putbacks and lobs. He’s a high upside players as his offensive game continues to develop.
For travel basketball, Uvwo plays for the Florida-based NightRydas program on the Nike EYBL Circuit. In seven games thus far this spring, Uvwo is averaging 9.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.1 blocks while shooting 71.1% from the field. He is not a perimeter shooting threat to this point in his development, and he has made 55.6% at the free throw line. His 6.1 blocks per game are nearly double the next closest player on the Nike circuit.
In addition to IU, Uvwo has a rapidly growing list of offers from Baylor, UCLA, BYU, LSU, Mississippi State, Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Cincinnati, Providence and Seton Hall.
