Indiana offered Michigan based class of 2025 guard Trey McKenney on Friday.
The Flint, Mich. product announced the offer on his Twitter page.
The combo guard attends Orchard Lake St. Mary’s H.S. and plays AAU with Meanstreets on the Nike EYBL. There aren’t a lot of rankings just yet for the class of 2025, but ESPN puts him at No. 19 nationally.
McKenney was named to the 2022 MaxPreps Freshman All-America second team, and he averaged 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds this past season as a freshman in high school.
At 6-foot-4 and 205 pounds, McKenney is already a solidly built guard. This is how 247Sports national analyst Eric Bossi described McKenney a couple weeks ago after an event in Indianapolis.
“A rugged and strong 6-foot-4 shooting guard, he is built more like a big-time football prospect but it’s pretty clear that he’s a talented basketball player,” Bossi wrote. “There probably wasn’t another player in camp who was surer of himself and more confident in his ability to get buckets. He spent most of Saturday’s action on a real heater from deep and can use his strength to his advantage when he decides to drive. His shot selection is a bit questionable at times, but the guy puts up points in bunches.”

McKenney also has offers from DePaul, Temple, Texas, TCU, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Michigan, Alabama, Mississippi State, Arizona State, and Ohio State. He is the seventh player Indiana has offered in the 2025 class. For the complete list of prospects, GO HERE.
