The top center in the 2027 class will be in Bloomington for the first weekend in September.
Top-20 center Darius Wabbington will visit IU the weekend of September 5, coinciding with the start of the 2026 IU football season.
The 6-foot-11 Arizona product recently announced his final six schools are Indiana, Arizona, Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville and Texas.
He also has September/October visits set so far for Louisville, Arizona and Texas as he trends towards a late fall decision.
“I’ll probably just be looking at my relationship with the coaches, and then the style of play. Those are the two main things that I want to see with a school,” Wabbington told Rivals’ Joe Tipton of his planned visits. “I really like the five-out style, but I also like playing with two bigs. You know, just bully ball. Where you’re bigger than everybody and you’re just going to show everybody that you’re bigger than them, and just make them stop it. Those are the two styles I really like to see.”
Based on the average of the national rankings, Wabbington is a 4-star, the No. 14 overall player in the 2027 class, and the No. 1 center.
Wabbington attends Sunnyslope H.S. and he led the school to an open state championship. He averaged 17.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game as a high school junior.
This spring, Wabbington posted 13.6 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game while shooting over 38% from three for the Compton Magic on the Adidas 3SSB Circuit.
He was named to the USA Basketball U18 National Team.
Thus far Indiana has one commit in the 2027 class — 4-star guard Chase Branham.
