Indiana continues to emphasize Georgia as fertile ground for recruiting prospects.
The latest player from the Peach State to receive an IU offer is 6-foot-7 wing Derrion Reid. He announced an offer from Indiana on his Twitter page on Saturday evening.
Reid is not currently ranked by the national outlets, but with his recent high-level play and a wave of offers, you can expect that to change.
Here’s what 247Sports national analyst Brandon Jenkins wrote about Reid earlier this week.
“If there was one main takeaway from GBCA Live, it was that rising junior Derrion Reid needs to claim a spot in the next rankings update for the national 2024 class,” Jenkins wrote. “A smooth 6-foot-7 combo forward loaded with versatility and a high skill level, Reid led his Grovetown (Ga.) High team to an undefeated weekend in a very productive fashion.”
As a sophomore, Reid averaged 9.8 points and 3.4 rebounds to help lead Grovetown H.S. to a 6A state championship. For travel basketball he plays with independent program Team Dickerson, where he teams with fellow IU target William Jobe.
In addition to Indiana, Reid has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia State, LSU, Mississippi State, Cincinnati and Xavier.
As with most recruits from Georgia, you can expect IU assistant coach Yasir Rosemond to take the lead with Reid.

Less than a month after winning the GHSA 6A State Championship, Derrion Reid hasn’t slowed down. The 6’7” 2024 prospect put on a show; scoring from the outside, and with his solid court vision, was able to make plays for him & his teammates. @35Derrion pic.twitter.com/Dq5t5vWhM1
