The 5-0 start to the Darian DeVries era has IU basketball ranked in both major national polls.
After debuting a week ago in the coaches poll, Indiana made in its first appearance in the AP top-25 on Monday.
The Hoosiers are No. 25 in this week’s AP poll, and they moved up a spot to No. 24 in the coaches poll.
Indiana’s poll appearances over the last two weeks are their first since exiting the national rankings following a disappointing performance a year ago this week at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
With difficult stretch of games coming, it will be a challenge for IU to stay in the polls. The Hoosiers face Kansas State (5-1) Tuesday evening, and overall they’ll play five high major teams in their next six contests. Those games include a pair of top-20 opponents (Louisville, Kentucky) away from Bloomington.
The Hoosiers will also face plenty of ranked teams during Big Ten play, including Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and UCLA. Meanwhile, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Oregon, Ohio State, USC and Iowa are all receiving votes.
Indiana and Kansas State tip at 8 p.m. ET Tuesday in Bloomington (FS1).
