Indiana defeated Washington at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 78-62.

The Hoosiers led 44-30 at halftime.  They were led in the game by Malik Reneau with 22 points.  Luke Goode added 18.

The three keys to the game and final stats are below.  Highlights will be added shortly.

Stay tuned to The Daily Hoosier for more coverage of the game.

Now winners of four of their last five, Indiana (18-11, 9-9) will stay on the West Coast to face Oregon on Tuesday.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. A good start…finally.  After a run of bad starts, Indiana jumped on Washington early.  The Hoosiers led 24-9 in the first 10 minutes, and extended to their biggest lead of the half, 32-16 with 7:03 left before the break.  The Huskies started the second half strong but would never got within seven points from there.  Before tonight the Hoosiers had trailed at halftime in five of their last six games, including four by double figures.  IU shot 51.5% in the first half and committed just five turnovers — good for 1.26 points per possession.

    2. Reneau can’t miss, Goode gets hot.  Two different players carried the load on Saturday in each half.  Malik Reneau was a perfect 6-of-6 from the field in the first half to lead the Hoosiers into halftime, and Luke Goode scored 12 second half points including three triples to continue the momentum.  Reneau finished with 22 points, while Goode had 18.  Goode tied his career high with five made threes for the game, and Reneau extended a streak of 17 made shots from the field before a second half miss.

    3. A solid defensive performance.  IU held Washington under 40% from the field in both halves and 36.2% for the game.  Washington had 13 turnovers and scored just .912 points per possession. Huskies leading scorer Great Osobor had no made field goals.  He came in averaging 15 points per game but shot 0-5 from the field with three turnovers.
