BLOOMINGTON — Indiana defeated Ohio State at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Saturday afternoon by a final score of 66-60.

Ohio State led 29-25 at halftime.  The Hoosiers were led in the game by Trey Galloway and Malik Reneau with 16 points apiece.

The three keys to the game, highlights and final stats are below.

Indiana (19-12, 10-10) will play as the No. 9 seed next week at the Big Ten Tournament against No. 8 Oregon at Noon ET on Thursday in Indianapolis.

    THREE KEYS TO THE GAME

    1. Clutch shooting by Galloway, clutch free throws.  IU trailed by as much as 10 in the second half.  But Trey Galloway had a massive Senior Day, making a pair of clutch second half threes in the final five minutes to spark a rally.  He hit a third three earlier in the half and had 16 points and six assists.  Indiana was solid at the free throw line throughout the second half, making 17-of-21 after the break.  Malik Reneau was a perfect 6-for-6.

    2. Defense good when offense wasn’t.  Indiana’s offense struggled the whole game, but the defense kept them in it.  They held the Buckeyes to 38.2% from the field with nine turnovers.  Ohio State starting guards Bruce Thornton and John Mobley combined to go just 5-of-21 from the field.  The Buckeyes had 10 turnovers and sored just .95 points per possession.  The defensive effort helped offset a 35% day from the field by the Hoosiers.

    3. Indiana owns the glass.  The Hoosiers dominated the boards with a 40-31 advantage, including 14-8 on the offensive end, and 18-10 on second chance points.  The Hoosiers were led on the glass by senior starters Anthony Leal and Luke Goode, who each had eight boards, a career high for both.
