Elijah Sarratt has joined the IU football party at the NFL Draft.
The wide receiver became the fifth Hoosier taken in Pittsburgh, drafted in the fourth round at No. 115 overall by the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday.
In the first round on Thursday, quarterback Fernando Mendoza went No. 1 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders, and receiver Omar Cooper Jr. was drafted by the New York Jets. Cornerback D’Angelo Ponds joined Cooper with the Jets in the second round Friday, and then running back Kaelon Black went to the San Francisco 49ers in the third round.
This is now the first time since 1970 that Indiana’s had two wide receivers taken in the same draft.
Sarratt enjoyed a tremendous two seasons in Bloomington, culminating in the national title run this past season. As a senior in 2025, he caught 65 passes for 830 yards with 15 touchdowns despite missing two games and most of a third. Sarratt led the Hoosiers in 2024 with 957 yards on 53 receptions with eight touchdowns. He came up with plenty of memorable moments throughout those seasons, including the game-winning touchdown catch in the Big Ten Championship Game in December.
Sarratt will join one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses in Baltimore, with Lamar Jackson throwing him passes. Zay Flowers is the team’s top receiver, but he plays more in the slot. The Ravens also drafted USC receiver Ja’Kobi Lane in the third round on Friday, and he and Sarratt will compete more with Rashod Bateman and Devontez Walker for reps and targets on the outside.
