Indiana missed on class of 2025 5-star Jalen Haralson on Wednesday evening.
Haralson announced his commitment to Notre Dame live on YouTube.
Haralson has a very close connection with Notre Dame assistant coach Ryan Owens, who coached him before joining the Irish staff. That played a major role in Haralson picking Notre Dame.
Haralson said after the announcement he trusted Notre Dame coach Micah Shrewsberry. “He had a vision for me that I couldn’t turn down,” Haralson said.
He also cited the idea that Notre Dame could surround him with shooters, and that Shrewsberry was the shooting coach for NBA stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
Haralson also said he thought the ACC Conference would translate best to the NBA.
IU offered Haralson before he played his first high school game and pursued him as a priority target for more than three years. He took an official visit to Indiana a few weeks ago.
Indiana currently has one commit in the 2025 class — 4-star forward Trent Sisley.
The Hoosiers will now turn their attention to final stages of the recruitments of their remaining priority 2025 targets — Braylon Mullins, Mikel Brown, Bryson Tiller and Eric Reibe.
