Indiana formally jumped into the recruitment of a late bloomer in the class of 2022 on Monday.

IU joined several schools that have offered a scholarship to Orlando, Florida based wing Brice Sensabaugh this month.

Sensabaugh announced the Indiana offer on his Twitter page on Monday evening.

The 6-foot-6 Sensabaugh is a 3-star prospect according to Rivals.  He is not ranked nationally by the major outlets, but he is trending towards breaking through in the rankings when they are updated.

In just the last few days Sensabaugh has been offered by Northwestern, Xavier, Vanderbilt, and Georgia Tech along with IU and several mid-major programs.

Playing at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, Sensabaugh averaged 18.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game as a sophomore while shooting 53.2 percent from the field and making 41.5 percent of his three-point attempts.  He also shot 78.8 percent at the free throw line.  His relatively late progression is due in part to a junior season knee injury.

On film Sensabaugh is a strong and physically imposing wing who loves to attack the basket, but he also has the perimeter shot to keep defenders honest.  IU had been recruiting Sensabaugh prior to this weekend, but he solidified their interest with a performance over the last few days that Rivals’ national analyst Dan McDonald described like this:

“The biggest winner of the weekend in Georgia was none other than Brice Sensabaugh,” McDonald wrote on Tuesday.  “The 6-foot-6 forward from Lake Highland Prep (Fla.) came into the weekend with a lot of high-major interest, particularly from the strong academic institutions, but was hoping to turn that interest into offers. After showing off his explosive athleticism and three-level scoring ability, he did just that with Georgia Tech, Indiana, Northwestern, Cincinnati , Vanderbilt and Xavier putting scholarship offers on the table. Stanford is also showing heavy interest and could offer soon. Sensabaugh made a strong case to be added to the next update of the Rivals150.”

For AAU basketball Sensabaugh plays for the E1T1 Nike EYBL program based in Florida, an area where IU assistant Yasir Rosemond is focused.  Rosemond is taking the lead in Sensabaugh’s recruitment.
