The 2025 NFL season is underway, and seven former Hoosiers saw the field in week one.
Here’s a quick overview of how they performed.
Cam Jones – New York Jets
After two seasons with Kansas City, Jones was picked up off waivers by the Jets. He played 20 special teams snaps in the Sunday opener and produced two tackles.
Marcelino McCrary-Ball – New York Jets
Playing alongside Jones, McCrary-Ball played 26 special teams snaps for the Jets on Sunday.
He also played 11 snaps at linebacker on defense.
In total McCrary-Ball had a productive afternoon with five tackles and a forced fumble. Both were career bests. Here’s a photo via the Jets of the forced fumble:
Micah McFadden – New York Giants
McFadden was a week one starter for the Giants, but he left the field in the game with an injury and did not return to action. He left the field on a cart with an air cast on his leg, signaling a serious injury. But he was on the sidelines in a boot for the second half, and early reports are the injury is not as serious as first feared. He was undergoing further testing Monday on his leg and foot before a recovery timeline could be established. If McFadden is going to be week to week, he could land on injured reserve for a minimum of four weeks.
Before the injury, McFadden has three tackles and a quarterback hit. This is his fourth season in the NFL. He has 270 tackles, 26 tackles for loss and six sacks for his career.
Myles Price – Minnesota Vikings
After going undrafted this spring, Price is the starting punt returner and kickoff returner for the Vikings. And he had an excellent first game on Monday Night Football in Chicago.
Price returned four punts for 68 yards (17.0 average), and two kickoffs for 49 yards (24.5 average). After one week he leads the NFL in punt return yards and yards per return.
Price did not see any action with the Vikings offense.
Ian Thomas – Las Vegas Raiders
Now in his eighth year, Thomas is currently the longest-tenured former Hoosier in the NFL. After playing with the Carolina Panthers his first seven years, Thomas is now with the Raiders.
He played 20 offensive snaps and four special teams snaps in the week one opener and did not produce any stats. He received a good pass blocking grade on PFF, but a relatively poor run blocking mark.
Thomas has 119 catches for 1,062 yards for his NFL career.
CJ West – San Francisco 49ers
The rookie defensive lineman saw the field in week one for the 49ers. He played seven snaps on defense and one on special teams. West did not produce any stats. He received average grades on PFF.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine – Miami Dolphins
Now in his sixth year in the NFL after going undrafted, Westbrook-Ikhine is playing his first season with Miami.
He played 21 offensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps in week one. Westbrook-Ikhine caught one pass for seven yards on two targets.
He now has 127 catches for 1,780 yards for his career.
