As we continue to wait for Big Ten football, the NFL rolls on.

Three weeks of the 2020 season are already complete for 11 former IU stars with teams in the league.

Take a look at how they did in week three with our quick weekly recap of the Hoosiers in the NFL.

Tevin Coleman (RB) – San Francisco 49ers

Coleman did not play on Sunday.  He was placed on the 49ers’ injured reserve list as he contends with a sprained knee.  The injury is not expected to be season ending and Coleman can return in a few weeks.

Under new league rules for players on injured reserve, Coleman is eligible to return for the team’s Oct. 18 game against the Los Angeles Rams,

Dan Feeney (OL) – Los Angeles Chargers

Feeney started but left the game with a limp while playing on the field goal unit.  The Chargers lost to Carolina and dropped to 1-2 on the season.

Jordan Howard (RB) – Miami Dolphins

For the third week in a row, Howard found the end zone on Thursday night.

Howard carried three times for just one yard and the score.  Miami picked up its first win of the year.

On the season Howard has 16 carries for 12 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Brandon Knight (OL) – Dallas Cowboys

Knight started for the second straight week at left tackle in the place of the injured Tyron Smith.  Dallas struggled to run the ball, gaining just 61 yards on 21 attempts, but their offense was productive.  Knight was solid for most of the day but appeared to give up a key sack on Dallas’ final drive in a 38-31 loss to Seattle.

    Wes Martin (OL) – Washington

Martin has started every game thus far for Washington at left guard.  Washington rushed 22 times for 103 yards but allowed 3 sacks.  Martin started for the eighth time of his career as Washington fell to 1-2.

Rodger Saffold (OL) – Tennessee Titans

Saffold appeared in his 133rd career game and earned his 130th career start as Tennessee moved to 3-0 with a dramatic 31-30 win over Minnesota. Now in year 11 in the NFL, Saffold is IU’s longest tenured active player in the NFL.

The Titans rushed 35 times for 134 yards and allowed only 1 sack.

Jason Spriggs (OL) – Chicago Bears

Spriggs was active for the third straight week as the Bears improved to 3-0.

Nate Sudfeld (QB) – Philadelphia Eagles

Sudfeld was inactive for the second week in a row.  Cincinnati and Philadelphia played to a 23-23 tie.

Ian Thomas (TE) – Carolina Panthers

Thomas continues to not be a big part of the Carolina offense.  He had just 1 catch for 9 yards on 2 targets.  He has 3 catches for 27 yards on the season.  The Panthers improved to 1-2 on the season.

Nick Westbrook (WR) – Tennessee Titans

Westbrook was active for the second straight week and he played on both offense and special teams.  Westbrook was targeted twice on offense but had no receptions.  He had a tackle on special teams.

Simon Stepaniak (OL) – Green Bay Packers

The Packers rookie is on the non football injury list for at least the first six weeks of the season as he continues to recover from knee surgery.
