As of January 8, 2019, the following Indiana University Athletics programs were nationally ranked in the Top 25, either currently, at the end, or in the preseason of their respective seasons:

    MEN’S SOCCER – #2

For the second season in a row, the Hoosiers lost in heartbreaking fashion at the College Cup.  Another strong season further cements IU’s standing as one of, if not the nation’s premier program of all-time.

    MEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING – #2

The Hoosiers are off to a fast start and will be a strong contender for a team national title along with several individuals in the running for titles.

    WOMEN’S SWIMMING & DIVING – #9

The Hoosiers finished 8th at the 2018 NCAA Championships and are once again a solid top ten program led by the legendary Lilly King.

    WOMEN’S ROWING – #13

The Hoosiers earned an at-large bid to the 2018 NCAA Championships in May.

    WOMEN’S WATER POLO – #14

The Hoosiers took 4th place at the CWPA championships.

    WOMEN’S CROSS COUNTRY – #17

The program achieved all-time highs in the rankings in the fall season, finishing 17th at the NCAA championships.

    MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY – #18

    Big Ten Championships

IU finished 18th at the NCAA championships

    MEN’S BASKETBALL – #22

The men’s basketball program has moved up in the rankings after re-entering for the first time since January of 2017 a few weeks ago.

MEN’S TRACK AND FIELD (OUTDOOR)- #24

IU sent six competitors to the NCAA Championships.

    WOMEN’S BASKETBALL – #25

A great start has the IU women ranked for only the 5th time in program history.

    HONORABLE MENTION —

    • The IU baseball team was ranked for the majority of the 2018 season and is a strong candidate to return to the rankings under first year coach Jeff Mercer.
