With a 13-0 start to the 2025 season and a Big Ten title under its belt, Indiana should have a very good chance to assemble its best high school recruiting class ever over the next year.
Yesterday we shared the Hoosiers were trending as the favorite to land Louisville, Ky. 4-star class of 2027 receiver Ja’Hyde Brown.
Indiana also appears to be in the lead for 4-star class of 2027 defensive back Monsanna Torbert. That’s according to national recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong of Rivals on his podcast.
Based on the national average, Torbert is a 4-star prospect, the No. 327 overall player in the 2027 in the class, and the No. 17 athlete.
The 6-foot, 170-pound Torbert is graded as an athlete because he did it all for Taft H.S. in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a junior, playing both quarterback and defensive back.
As a junior quarterback in 2025, Torbert posted 1,791 passing yards, 26 passing touchdowns, 450 rushing yards, and 4 rushing touchdowns. On the defensive side he had 40 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 3 interceptions, 2 touchdowns, and 3 pass break-ups.
Torbert is being recruited by Indiana to be a defensive back.
He self reports a 4.39 40-yard dash time on his X page. He also plays basketball and is transferring to Princeton H.S. for next season.
Torbert’s offer list includes Kentucky, Iowa, Cincinnati, Maryland, Pittsburgh, Purdue and a host of G5 programs.
