And you thought the spotlight couldn’t get brighter.

For the third time this season, ESPN’s College Gameday will be on location for an IU football game, this time for an all-or-nothing playoff game involving the Hoosiers.

The network announced they’ll be on location for Indiana’s first round College Football Playoff game in South Bend next Friday.

Gameday made their first ever appearance in Bloomington for the full Saturday show when the Hoosiers hosted Washington in late October.  The crew also set up shop in Columbus, Ohio a month later when IU traveled to Ohio State.

Former IU head coach Lee Corso is part of the Gameday team.  He picked Indiana to win against both Washington and Ohio State.  Corso is joined on the set by Nick Saban, Rece Davis, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, and others.

ESPN’s flagship show will make its first trip to South Bend since Sept. 23, 2023, when Notre Dame fell to Ohio State.  Gameday is now in its 38th season overall, and 31st of road shows.  Notre Dame is 16-20 all-time in their games involving the pregame show.

No. 7 seeded Notre Dame (11-1) will host No. 7 Indiana (11-1) in the first-ever on-campus College Football Playoff game.  The game will be broadcast on ESPN and ABC.

The pregame show will set up on Library Lawn, with the Word of Life Mural (“Touchdown Jesus”) in the background, at 3:30 p.m. ET on Friday, Dec. 20.  The game kicks off at 8 p.m. ET.

GameDay is making two stops during the first round of the College Football Playoff, one in South Bend and one in Columbus, where Ohio State is hosting Tennessee on Saturday, Dec. 21.
