Trey Patterson is a 4-star recruit and the No. 38 player in the country in the class of 2021 according to the 247Sports Composite.  The 6-foot-8 wing took an official visit to Indiana in the fall. The Somerset, N.J. product averaged 19.8 points and 10.1 rebounds per game for the 2019-20 season and was named first team All-State while leading Rutgers Prep to a 27-2 record. Nine Indiana basketball players that saw the floor during the season will be back for the 2020-21 campaign as of this writing.  While formal practices have concluded, the work never stops for high major college basketball players.  Growth and development happens in the offseason, in individual workouts and permitted organized team activities. One of the top grad transfers on the market has included Indiana on his list of finalists. 6-foot-4 shooting guard Charles Minlend from San Francisco is down to Arizona, Arkansas, Butler, BYU, Gonzaga, Indiana and Mississippi State, according to Jake Weingarten of Stock Risers. Minlend averaged 14.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists as a junior in the WCC.  He was named All-WCC second team each of the last two seasons. Originally from Concord, N.C., Minlend is 18th on USF’s all-time scoring list with 1,271 career points.  He shot 41.6 percent from the field overall in 2019-20, including 30.3 percent…

Indiana head coach Archie Miller and assistant Bruiser Flint reached back into their home state when IU offered class of 2021 shooting guard Jordan Longino on Wednesday. The 6-foot-4 Philadelphia area product is the No. 61 player in the junior class and the No. 12 shooting guard according to the 247Sports Composite. IU head coach Archie Miller has reached back into his old stomping grounds to make Indiana’s third scholarship offer in the class of 2022. Dayton, Ohio based center Shawn Phillips, one of the top sophomores in the country, unofficially visited Indiana for their home game against Maryland in January. New Indiana basketball commit Logan Duncomb joined Moeller High School Director of Alumni and Athletic Engagement Barrett Cohen to discuss his decision to play for IU. The junior helped lead the Cincinnati high school to a 26-1 record for the 2019-20 season before it was canceled.  Moeller was the defending Ohio Division One state champion. After a string of frustrating injuries, Indiana head coach Tom Allen had a plan for his starting quarterback going into the offseason. And much like he did on the field when healthy in 2019, Michael Penix was executing on that plan at a very high level. Class of 2020 IU signees Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal are on the list of the five finalists for the prestigious honor set to be announced on Friday by the Indianapolis Star. Joining Leal and Galloway on the list of finalists are Dre Davis from Lawrence Central (Louisville), Johnell Davis from Gary 21st Century (Florida Atlantic), and Tony Perkins from Lawrence North (Iowa).
