IU has never successfully recruited three straight Indiana Mr. Basketball winners, but that could be about to change. Class of 2020 IU signees Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal are on the list of the five finalists for the prestigious honor set to be announced on Friday by the Indianapolis Star. Joining Leal and Galloway on the list of finalists are Dre Davis from Lawrence Central (Louisville), Johnell Davis from Gary 21st Century (Florida Atlantic), and Tony Perkins from Lawrence North (Iowa). Galloway averaged 20.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists and 2.3 steals per game for Culver Academies. After missing a…

Two unofficial visits were enough for the top center on the board for Indiana. Cincinnati based class of 2021 center Logan Duncomb has committed to Indiana. The 6-foot-9 Duncomb announced his decision on Twitter on Tuesday morning. https://twitter.com/LoganDuncomb/status/1247545774306721794?s=20 Duncomb had previously told the 247Sports Wisconsin site that he planned to take an official visit to Indiana this spring, but with the recruiting restrictions in place due to COVID-19, that visit never happened. Duncomb was on campus for the Jan. 26 game in Bloomington against Maryland and had previously visited IU in September. Those visits were enough for Duncomb, who is…

Fiacable’s ties to the program run deep, and thus his commitment to play for IU does not come as a surprise. It comes as no surprise that IU basketball class of 2020 signees Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal were named as 2 of the 13 Indiana All-Stars on Monday. It will be surprising, however, if the Bloomington bound duo is able to represent their state in the annual Indiana vs. Kentucky All-Star series at the regularly scheduled time in early June. But just being named Indiana All-Stars carries special significance to in-state players. And after the abrupt and frustrating end of their respective high school careers, Galloway and Leal have now earned an honor that they can carry with them for…
Nine Indiana basketball players that saw the floor during the season will be back for the 2020-21 campaign as of this writing. While formal practices have concluded, the work never stops for high major college basketball players. Growth and development happens in the offseason, in individual workouts and permitted organized team activities. At the end of each season the coaches sit down and have one-on-one meetings with the players. If you could talk to each of the nine returning players about their 2019-20 season and what they need to improve going forward, what would you say? We play Archie Miller…
The Indiana women’s basketball team announced on Sunday night that freshman forward Jorie Allen has decided to transfer. IU head coach coach Teri Moren issued a statement. “Jorie and I have spoken and we agree that it’s in her best interest to leave Indiana. We wish her much success moving forward and thank her for her contributions,” Moren said in a release. The 6-foot-1 Allen, the 2019 Indiana Miss Basketball, appeared in all 32 games for the Hoosiers last season. The Bedford North Lawrence product averaged 1.9 points and 1.8 rebounds in 11 minutes per contest. Allen notched a season-high…
